Rev. Susan's Christmas Letter
Dear People of Good Shepherd,
As we head into the last part of Advent, I am remembering this time last year when we could not meet in person at all. What a joy it is to be able to worship in person with some of you!
At the same time many of you still are needing to be more careful, and/or choosing to worship with us on Zoom from your own homes, and that is wonderful too!! We have parishioners joining us for Zoom who have moved away but are able to keep their connection to our community virtually, and that is a real blessing.
Thank you to all who make this worship possible. A special thank you to Joyce Brightman who does the bulletins for the in-person service (and so much more!), Bud Greer who is volunteering as our interim keyboard player, and Mike Christie who does the Zoom bulletins, the e-news, the website (and so much more!). This past week we had memorial services/funerals for Mary Lee Fricker and John W. Bacher. Both were beautiful and well attended, and the outdoor receptions worked well. Thank you to all who helped us navigate our first in-person funerals and receptions since the pandemic began.
The strength of Good Shepherd shines through the weary world around us. God is continually blessing us. Your leadership continues to work long and hard in service for this parish family. I give thanks for the blessing of ministry with all of you. I hope that you can join us for our special “Blue Christmas” and Christmas Eve services.
“Blue Christmas: A Service of Light in the Darkness” – Zoom – Wed. December 22, 7 p.m.
Christmas Eve on Zoom – Friday, December 24, 4 p.m.
Christmas Eve in person – Friday, December 24, 5:30 p.m. Masks required.
First Sunday after Christmas – Sunday December 26, 9:30 in person, 11:30 Zoom
May the joy of Advent and Christmas fill your hearts and spill over into the world around us.
