Lenten Soup Suppers
Wednesdays in Lent, starting on March 1, we will have a soup supper at 5:00 p.m., followed by evening prayer and a short program. Three varieties of soup will be offered with each meal, along with bread.
As per tradition, bring your own soup bowl and spoon.
We are looking for volunteers to make a crockpot (or large soup pot) of some type of soup, enough to feed at least 10 people. There is a sign-up sheet at the back of the parish hall or email lindaj.brown48@gmail.com if you can make soup. (Coordinating types to assure a variety will be optimal). The church has a crockpot that can be borrowed, if needed.
We also need volunteers to bring bread for each meal. (Traditionally, we’ve used long loaves from Stater Bros. bakery that we bake in the church oven before the meal, but alternatives are acceptable).
Volunteer cooks are needed for March 8, 15, 22 and 29.
