A Word from Rev. Susan
Dear People of Good Shepherd Church,
It is hard to believe, but the two-year transition where my husband John and our son Hugh stayed in Florida when I moved out here in June of 2019 is almost over! I will be flying back there to help get the house ready to sell, attend Hugh's college graduation, and then drive across country with them and our cats. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travels!
I will be out of the office from May 3 to June 5th. The first few days will be a virtual retreat with the Order of the Ascension, a religious order of which I am a professed member. The rest of the time I will be with John and Hugh getting ready to move, and then driving across country.
My husband John will be with me for the service on Sunday June 6th, my first one back after the trip. I hope to see some of you at the outdoor, in-person Eucharist that day!
Our seminarian, Brian, will be leading Morning Prayer at all Sunday services on May 9, 16, 23, and 30th. We have wonderful leadership and everything will be covered while I am away. Please contact your senior warden Butch Glosson or your junior warden Richard Taylor with any pastoral needs that may come up. We will have an emergency back-up priest who is willing to be on call in case of a sacramental need other than Communion while I am away.
I am deeply grateful to be in ministry with you, and deeply grateful for our leadership, and for Brian, our seminarian.
May the Joy of the Risen Christ be with you!
