Indoor Worship Protocols

In its meeting on Wednesday, September 15th the vestry passed an update to our COVID protocols. This is in recognition of the breakthrough cases of COVID among vaccinated people (including at least four in our own congregation) and the differing levels of comfort among our parishioners with any in-person gathering. Please remember that many of us have health issues that must inform our actions. Please do not assume that anyone else not in your family is comfortable with any physical contact including hugs, handshakes, etc.
In addition to the mandatory wearing of masks for indoor worship, we now also require the following at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd:

  • Six feet of distance must be kept at all times between all individuals not of the same household. We will be roping off pews to aid with sitting at least six feet from one another – please respect the need for distance.

  • Frequent use of hand sanitizer.

  • Masks must be worn correctly at all times over both the nose and mouth except when consuming the communion wafer at your seat.

New as of January 23, 2022:

If you are exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to in-person worship even if you do not have symptoms, until you have tested negative for COVID-19 five days after your exposure. If you have ANY symptoms, please do not come to in-person worship.
Please continue to pray for all who are suffering with COVID-19 and for the people of this country to act in ways that will help stem the rise of this virus.
